I grew up in Toledo, Ohio, a blue-collar town that made fiberglass and Jeep trucks. I fell in love with philosophy and moved to Memphis, Tennessee, to study it more deeply.

After the attacks on September 11, 2001, I joined the Navy and served as a Nuclear-powered submarine officer on a boat home-ported in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

After the Navy, I’ve worked as a data scientist / analytics professional. Basically, this means that I’ve used a variety of applied mathematical methods, software, and critical thinking to solve business problems.

I have two daughters, an amazing partner, some great friends, and more interests than time.

Here, I like to write about living intentionally, data science and other mathy things, design, and technology.
